Spin some great tunes for your spring break soundtrack

By Montez Jennings

What’s a girl to do with all this free time? Find new music and relax the mind during spring break. Music can express your inner moods, thoughts and feelings, but it can also get you going. You can find almost any song for any occasion.

Here are a few to get you started during spring break ’14 and beyond:

Haim, “Falling
The all-girl anthem never really disappoints with its empowering lyrics hidden behind heavy pop-rock melodies. “Never look back, never give up,” says the trio of sisters as they belt out the message of moving forward and pushing on.

Tom Tom Club, “Genius of Love
No playlist is complete without an old-school party hit. Aside from the fun lyrics that pays homage to popular songs of the time, the infectious beat will make you bob your head and move your feet. Tom Tom Club’s song is perfect for any occasion.

Pitbull featuring Ke$ha, “Timber
Nothing spells fun like Ke$ha and a song with country flair.

Iggy Azalea, “Fancy” (NSFW)
Iggy Azalea amazes fans again with her “Clueless” themed video and catchy pop hook. She combines what seems like two music genres to create this edgy, yet party-like, anthem.

G Eazy, “Almost Famous” (NSFW)
If you’re tired of high-energy party songs, try rapper G-Eazy’s mellow and slow moving tune about the price of fame. Almost Famous may remind you of a soft Drake-like song. Hidden behind the retro black-and-white allure of the video is a deeply rooted message about fame.
